The Gatamaha Forest Protection Committee under G. Udayagiri block in Kandhamal district has been honored with the 'Prakruti Mitra' award for its contribution to forest and wildlife conservation. On World Environment Day, the committee president Rajesh Kumar Bagarti received a certificate and a cash prize of 20,000 rupees from the Phulbani Forest Division.
