The bill proposes the removal of Ministers, Chief Ministers, and even the Prime Minister if they remain in custody for 30 days due to serious criminal charges. Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh labeled the bill 'dangerous' and a tool for political harassment. The party expressed confidence that the government lacks the two-thirds majority required to pass the amendment.
