A 60-year-old woman named Jamuna Mahanta was trampled to death by a wild elephant in Saleidihi village under the Banki forest range of Rourkela division. The incident occurred while she was out for defecation in the morning. Despite forest officials' attempts to drive away a herd of six elephants, one returned and attacked her.
