A 35-year-old woman named Panchali Gouda died after a wall constructed for a park near the Rushikulya river collapsed in Antarigaon village, Ganjam. Local villagers staged a protest and blocked the Hinjili-Purusottampur main road, alleging poor quality of construction by the contractor. The local Tehsildar provided Rs 30,000 as immediate assistance from the Red Cross fund.
