A Manjuvirattu (bull-taming) event was held in Manakkudi village near Tiruppattur, Sivaganga district, as part of the Mangala Vinayagar Temple's Vaikasi Pongal festival. Around 200 bulls were released from the vadi-vaasal, while over 800 bulls were let loose in the open fields. Seven people were injured during the event. Prizes were distributed to the best bull owners and tamers.
