The Indian government has announced a hike in passport fees after nearly 14 years. Under the Passport (Amendment) Rules, 2026, the new rates will be effective from July 1. For a standard 36-page passport, the fee increases from ₹1,500 to ₹2,500, while the Tatkaal fee rises from ₹3,500 to ₹5,000. For a 60-page passport, the fee is revised to ₹3,500 (normal) and ₹6,000 (Tatkaal).
