US Secretary of State Marco Rubio arrived in Kolkata on Saturday for a four-day official visit to India. This is the first visit by a US Secretary of State to Kolkata in 14 years. Rubio is scheduled to meet PM Narendra Modi in New Delhi to discuss trade, technology, defense cooperation, and strategic partnership. The visit, spanning from May 23 to May 26, includes stops in Agra, Jaipur, and New Delhi. He will also participate in a QUAD foreign ministers' meeting on May 26 to discuss regional security and Indo-Pacific strategy.
