The Vigilance Bureau of Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar has arrested Chirag Lakhotra, a Block Officer of the Forest Department, in a bribery case. Lakhotra, along with a forest guard and a daily wager, allegedly demanded 1.5 lakh rupees to release vehicles seized for illegal mining. A total of 1.10 lakh rupees was collected, partly through the UPI account of a local tea seller.
