The article describes the significance of the Malamasa Thakur Temple located near the Kalpabata inside the Puri Jagannath Temple complex. Known as the Shripurushottama or Barahanarayana Temple, it houses a rare four-armed idol of Lord Vishnu in a meditative posture (Yogeshwar Vishnu), accompanied by the Varaha avatar. According to mythology, Lord Vishnu named the 13th month of the year after himself to remove its impurity. The 11-foot temple is unique for its iconography, featuring various avatars on the sides of the main deity.
