Electricity bills in Delhi are set to rise starting June due to an increase in Power Purchase Adjustment Charges (PPAC). The Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission has allowed distribution companies to collect these charges monthly instead of quarterly. The hike is attributed to rising costs of coal and fuel globally due to geopolitical tensions. While customers using over 500 units monthly may see a 7% to 18% increase, those using up to 400 units will remain protected by existing subsidies.
