A 30-year-old doctor, Vijay Kumar Giri, was arrested in Lucknow for allegedly raping a 20-year-old female patient inside the operation theater of a private hospital. The victim, a class 12 student suffering from epilepsy, was taken to the OT on the pretext of administering oxygen, where she was sedated and assaulted. Following the incident, UP Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak ordered the hospital to be sealed and initiated the process to cancel the doctor's medical license.
