On 7th May 2026, a major sinkhole opened near Subhash Chowk on the Sohna Road Expressway in Gurugram after the highway surface collapsed due to a damaged 1,800 mm underground master sewer line causing erosion beneath the road. The crater, estimated to be around 15 feet wide and up to 20 feet deep, led to heavy traffic disruption and emergency barricading, though no injuries were reported. Authorities stated this was the sixth sink hole in on the corridor since 2023, and agencies including the National Highways Authority of India and Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority are investigating and planning permanent repairs to the sewer infrastructure. #gurgaon
