Manoranjan Gouda, the Sarpanch of Kaithakhandi Panchayat in Ganjam district, staged a protest in front of the Digapahandi Tehsildar's office against illegal moorum mining from reserved village forests. The Sarpanch alleged that although he caught a JCB and tractor red-handed, officials released them after a compromise mediated by a contractor.
