Veteran Tamil actor, director, and screenwriter K. Bhagyaraj passed away in Chennai following a heart attack. Known as one of the most influential storytellers in Tamil cinema during the 80s and 90s, he directed over 25 films and acted in more than 75. He was also the director of the famous Bollywood film 'Aakhree Raasta' starring Amitabh Bachchan. Bhagyaraj was highly regarded for his realistic portrayal of middle-class life and was once hailed by M.G. Ramachandran as his successor in the industry.
