The Chhattisgarh government has approved the establishment of microbreweries to boost tourism and revenue. Under this policy, hotels and restaurants can produce and serve fresh craft beer on-site. The Excise Department will issue licenses at an annual fee of ₹10 lakh. A minimum of 4,000 square feet of commercial space is required for the setup. An excise duty of ₹60 per bulk liter will be levied on craft beer, with an estimated price of ₹250 to ₹300 per glass. This move is expected to generate employment and increase state tax collection.
