The Karnataka Irrigation Corporation has ordered the release of 0.6 TMC of water from the Karanja Dam in Bidar to address drinking water needs for people and livestock this summer. Following a meeting chaired by District In-charge Minister Eshwar Khandre, water will be released in phases from May 16 to June 6 via the left, right, and lift irrigation canals. Authorities have issued a public safety advisory, urging citizens to avoid entering the canals for swimming or washing clothes during this period.
