_*👇👇Decision Reserved on Review Petition Regarding Mandatory TET Order*_
_*Today (13.05.2026), a hearing was held in the afternoon in Supreme Court Hall No. 8 on the review petitions filed against the Supreme Court’s order making TET (Teacher Eligibility Test) mandatory. The arguments lasted for nearly two hours.*_
_*Senior advocates including Mukul Rohatgi, Abhishek Manu Singhvi, Salman Khurshid, and STFI’s Advocate-on-Record (AOR) K R Subhash Chandran, along with others, appeared on behalf of the teachers.*_
_*The advocates extensively referred to the RTE Act, the RTE Amendment 2017, the NCTE guidelines, and the amended NCTE guidelines of 2012.*_ _*They strongly argued that making TET mandatory for teachers appointed prior to 2010 is not justifiable.*_
_*The Hon’ble Court has taken all the submissions into consideration. The Government of Tamil Nadu has sought an extension of the time limit for conducting TET from 2 years to 4 years.*_
_*The teachers’ side was strongly represented during the hearing. It is hoped that the Supreme Court will deliver justice to the 25 lakh teachers across the country.*_
