The Odisha government has sought a status report from all districts within 7 days regarding the functioning of de-addiction centers following repeated reports of inmate deaths and torture. The Social Security and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (SSEPD) department issued this directive after a youth was allegedly beaten to death in Jajpur.
