A female Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI), Sita Nayak, of Jarapada police station in Angul district, was caught red-handed by Vigilance officials while accepting a bribe of ₹8,000. She had allegedly demanded the money to file a final report of a case. Following a trap laid by the Vigilance team, she was apprehended and the bribe money was recovered. Simultaneous searches are being conducted at her residence and other locations.
