The Brahmani River in Rourkela is among 16 polluted rivers in Odisha, as per government reports. Despite an investment of 340.25 crore INR, the Sewerage Treatment Plant project remains incomplete after 8 years. Untreated waste from hotels, hospitals, and residences flows directly into the river, posing health risks to nearby slum dwellers and livestock.
