A 28-year-old widow named Shilpa Sahu committed suicide by hanging herself in a rented house in Mohana, Odisha. She lived with her father and they ran a fruit stall together. On Monday, she left the shop telling her father she was going to Berhampur, but instead went home and took her own life. Financial distress and debts following her husband's death are suspected to be the reasons behind this step. She is survived by a 7-year-old daughter.
