Amid rising tensions in West Asia and threats to supply via the Strait of Hormuz, India has devised a ₹40,000 crore mega plan for energy security. The government is considering a 2,000 km deep-sea gas pipeline from Oman directly to Gujarat. Known as the Middle East-India Deep-Water Pipeline (MEIDP), it will sit at a depth of 3,450 meters. This project aims to provide cheap and uninterrupted gas from Oman, UAE, and Saudi Arabia. Entities like GAIL and IOC may soon be tasked with detailed reports. This pipeline will shield India from global LNG price volatility and help meet gas demands projected for 2030. https://hindi.news18.com/news/nation/india-oman-deep-sea-lpg-lng-gas-pipeline-rupees-40000-crore-mega-project-hormuz-strait-crisis-iran-war-oil-supply-10474179.html #creator program
