A lift irrigation project worth 26.82 lakh rupees in Bhomarmal village of Kalahandi district has been defunct for six years after functioning for only one month. Constructed by the Odisha Lift Irrigation Corporation in 2020-21, the project's failure has affected over 100 farmers and 150 acres of land. Farmers allege corruption and poor quality work by contractors and officials.
