Tribal families in the Birmaharajpur area of Subarnapur district are facing exploitation due to the lack of government procurement centers for Sal (Saragi) flowers. While thousands depend on collecting these forest products, middlemen are purchasing them at low prices of ₹15-20 per kg. Residents and volunteers are demanding that the government clarify the Minimum Support Price (MSP) and open procurement centers through TDCCOL and VSS to ensure fair prices for the collectors.
