Hazrat Khwaja Bande Nawaz Gesudaraz was a prominent Sufi saint who acted as a spiritual bridge between North and South India. Born in Delhi in 1321, he moved to Kalaburagi at the invitation of Sultan Firoz Shah Bahmani. A prolific writer, he authored 105 books in Arabic, Persian, and Deccani, becoming a pioneer of Deccani prose. His 622nd Urs is scheduled to be celebrated in May 2026. He is revered for his teachings on divine love and spiritual philosophy.
