A tragic road accident occurred on the Berhampur-Purushottampur main road near Baidhar Temple when a truck lost control and crashed into a tree. The impact caused the tree to uproot and fall onto the vehicle, trapping the driver and helper inside. Fire department officials rescued them by cutting the tree. Both were rushed to Berhampur Medical College, where the driver, Prafulla Kumar Pradhan, was declared dead. The helper, Pradip Kumar Pradhan, sustained serious injuries and is undergoing treatment.
