A second-year electrical student named Sonu Abhishakti allegedly committed suicide by jumping from the second floor of the Hrudananda Dani ITI hostel in Sundargarh, Odisha. Police recovered a suicide note and a broken mobile phone from the spot. While the suicide note mentions he took the step of his own will, police suspect a love affair to be the motive. The institution provided 2 lakh rupees as compensation to the deceased's family, following which the situation calmed down.
