Opposition leaders in Odisha are demanding a reduction in Value Added Tax (VAT) on petrol and diesel following frequent price hikes. In the last 10 days, fuel prices have increased three times, leading to public dissatisfaction. BJD MLA Ganeswar Behera urged the state government to reduce its share of tax to provide relief to consumers. Currently, the state levies 28% VAT on petrol and 24% on diesel. BJP MLA Manoranjan Dyanasamantara noted that while prices depend on international markets, the state government should consider the financial implications of a VAT cut. https://www.dharitri.com/opposition-demands-reduction-in-vat-on-petrol-diesel/ #creator program
