An avalanche occurred near Badrinath in Chamoli district on Sunday morning after a mass of snow fell from Kuber Bhandar peak into the upper catchment area of Kanchan Ganga. District Magistrate Gaurav Kumar confirmed that there was no loss of life or property as the snow remained confined to the valley area. The Badrinath National Highway remained unaffected.
