Farmers in Bargarh district are facing significant challenges during the Rabi paddy procurement process, primarily due to the 'Katni-Chatni' (paddy deduction) issue and token shortages. Farmers from Banabaspali village met the Civil Supplies Officer (CSO) to protest against deductions of 3 to 6 kg per quintal at both mandis and rice mills. The CSO, Dibyasingh Badamali, has promised an investigation into the allegations of double deductions and insufficient allotments, stating that quality checks or deductions at mill points are not permissible under rules. https://www.dharitri.com/dont-take-paddy-from-the-market-without-harvesting-farmers-appeal-to-cso/ #creator program
