IAS officer Tukaram Mundhe, the Commissioner of Food and Drugs Administration (FDA), has initiated a massive crackdown on illegal gutkha and pan masala sales. Within a month, goods worth ₹3.27 crore were seized. Mundhe has directed officials to invoke the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) against manufacturers and sellers involved in organized networks.
