The Central Government has reduced the number of subsidized LPG cylinders for PM Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) beneficiaries from 9 to 4 per year. This decision by the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas is based on the average annual consumption patterns of beneficiaries. Initially, 12 subsidized cylinders were provided in 2016, which was cut to 9 last year. Despite the reduction, beneficiaries currently receive a subsidy of ₹300 per cylinder, making the cost ₹642 in Delhi.
