Foreign investors continue to withdraw funds from the Indian equity market, pulling out nearly 43,000 crore rupees in the first week of June. Factors such as the weakening rupee against the dollar and attractive AI-related investment opportunities in South Korea and Taiwan are cited as reasons. In 2026 alone, total withdrawals have reached 2.67 lakh crore rupees so far, with March seeing a record outflow of 1.17 lakh crore. While February saw a peak investment of 22,615 crore, other months have consistently shown higher withdrawals than investments.
