The Puri district branch of the Odisha Mid-day Meal Cooks Association (CITU) held a protest in front of the District Education Officer's office. They submitted a 9-point charter of demands to the School and Mass Education Minister through the ADO. Their demands include government employee status, minimum wage, 12 months' salary instead of 10, insurance, pension, and increasing the retirement age to 62.
