A member of the Khordha Zilla Parishad attempted self-immolation during a meeting to protest the alleged arbitrary functioning of the Bolagarh BDO. The member, Pradipta Kumar Chhotray, poured petrol on himself in the presence of the Collector and MLAs, but was stopped by colleagues.
