The Central Government has announced a significant hike in passport issuance and renewal fees under the Passport (Amendment) Rules, 2026, effective July 1, 2026. For adults, the fee for a 36-page passport will rise from ₹1,500 to ₹2,500, while a 60-page passport will cost ₹3,500. Tatkaal services will cost up to ₹6,000. Fees for children's passports and duplicate passports due to loss or damage have also increased.
