The Central Government is set to implement a standardized framework for District Domestic Product (DDP) to measure economic growth at the district level across all states. Currently practiced by 26 states and UTs, the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation has released a new framework to ensure uniformity. The National Statistical Office (NSO) has sought public feedback, suggesting 2022-23 as the base year. This move will provide clear data on Gross District Domestic Product (GDDP) and per capita income, helping policymakers formulate better development strategies.
