A major scam has surfaced in the urban streetlight supply project involving Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL). Despite a 7-year warranty contract for approximately 10 lakh streetlights across 109 urban areas, thousands of lights remain non-functional. EESL failed to repair or replace them, leading to the cancellation of their contract by the Urban Development Department in June 2023.
