The Keonjhar police arrested a 30-year-old man named Ranjit Kumar Das for defrauding a youth of ₹5.5 lakh by promising a Revenue Inspector (RI) job. The accused claimed to have high-level government contacts and collected the money in installments from the complainant, Gaura Chandra Sahoo. After receiving the funds, Das fled and cut off communication. Following a police investigation, he was apprehended and a motorcycle and mobile phone were seized.
