Fishermen in Thanjavur district have requested the Tamil Nadu government to provide fiber-reinforced plastic (FRP) boats and nets at subsidized rates. Due to strong cyclonic winds called 'Cholakaatru', country boat fishermen are unable to venture into the sea.
