RTI data has revealed that 1,658 employees resigned from the State Bank of India (SBI) during FY26, drawing attention to staffing levels and employee retention. Employee federations have raised concerns over staff reduction, counter rationalisation, and increasing workload, stating that operational pressure on employees continues to grow despite the bank's strong business performance and its ₹8,813 crore dividend payout to the Government for FY26.
