Cybercriminals are using a new tactic called the Boss Scam. A malicious .zip file can compromise your WhatsApp, after which fraudsters impersonate your boss or senior officials and send urgent payment requests to finance teams and employees. Stay protected: • Never download .zip, .exe or .dll files received from unknown or unexpected sources • Never transfer money based only on a WhatsApp message. Always verify through a phone call or another official communication channel • Regularly check WhatsApp > Linked Devices and remove any unknown devices • Enable Two-Step Verification on WhatsApp and keep antivirus software updated on your devices If you accidentally open a suspicious file or suspect your account has been compromised, immediately call 1930, inform your bank, and report the incident at cybercrime.gov.in #Boss #scam #news #india #cybercrime
