Psalm 31:5 “Into Your hand I commit my spirit; You have redeemed me, O Lord God of truth.” David’s life was marked by danger, betrayal, and constant pursuit, yet he learned the secret of surrender. When King Saul hunted him, David could have taken matters into his own hands, even killing Saul when given the chance. Instead, he trusted God’s timing and protection. By committing his spirit into God’s hands, David acknowledged that his life was safest under divine control. God faithfully delivered him; from enemies, fear, and despair, and eventually established him as king. This verse reminds us that true peace comes when we surrender completely to God.
