Amid the Middle East crisis, a commercial vessel 'MV Simi' carrying 20,000 tonnes of LPG reached Gujarat's Kandla port after successfully crossing the Strait of Hormuz. The Marshall Islands-flagged ship started its journey from Qatar and anchored at Deendayal Port Authority. Since March, 13 Indian-flagged vessels have navigated this route despite ongoing regional conflicts. India's permanent representative to the UN, Parvathaneni Harish, emphasized that targeting commercial vessels and disrupting maritime traffic in the Strait of Hormuz is unacceptable to India.
