The Commissionerate Police has arrested OAS officer Bhimsen Tudu, the boyfriend of deceased medical student Chandrika Hembram. Bhimsen surrendered at the Bisoi police station in Mayurbhanj before being brought to Barang police station in Cuttack for questioning. Chandrika's body was found under the Netaji Bridge on October 4. Her family has alleged that Bhimsen is responsible for her death, claiming it was a pre-planned murder.
