A well-marked low-pressure area over the Bay of Bengal has intensified into a depression and is likely to cross the North Odisha coast near Balasore. The IMD has issued a Red Warning for heavy to very heavy rainfall in 8 districts including Sambalpur, Bolangir, and Nuapada for the next 24 hours. Orange and Yellow alerts have been issued for other districts. Local Cautionary Signal No. 3 has been hoisted at all ports, and fishermen are advised not to venture into the sea until July 7.
