Bholenath, "the innocent lord," "simple-hearted," or "easily pleased", Shiva has title being deeply compassionate, completely detached from ego and answering prayers of his devotees without hesitating or calculating the personal cost. During the churning of the ocean by the gods (Devas) and demons (Asuras) to obtain the nectar of immortality (Amrita), among many miraculous objects that emerged before the nectar, a lethal, dark sludge called Halahal (or Kalakuta) bubbled up from the depths. It was so volatile and toxic that its fumes began suffocating every living being, threatening to annihilate the entire universe. Neither the Devas nor the Asuras could contain or destroy it, prompting them to run to Lord Shiva for help. Bholenath lived up to his name by choosing to swallow the entire ocean of poison himself to protect creation.Jai Bholenath!🚩
