Sand mafias attacked a mining official and police personnel during a raid at the Amalipali sand ghat on the Ib River in Sundargarh. While the team was transporting six seized sand-laden vehicles to the police station, the mafia intercepted them, physically assaulted the officials, and forcibly took away five of the seized vehicles. One vehicle was successfully brought to the Town Police Station.
