Tension erupted in Mahakalapada block of Kendrapara district after Sarpanch Chameli Ojha recorded a video in the BDO's chamber. Following a complaint by the BDO, police detained the Sarpanch and her brother for obstructing government work. The Sarpanch alleged she was physically assaulted by the police in the van and threatened with gang rape, charges which the police denied.
