The Punjab Vigilance Bureau arrested Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Jaswinder Singh, posted at Shutrana police station in Patiala district, for accepting a bribe of Rs 18,000. The ASI allegedly demanded the money from a resident of Bakraha village to take legal action against the opposing party in a physical assault case. Following a complaint, a trap was laid by the Patiala range Vigilance team, and the officer was caught red-handed in the presence of government witnesses.
